Luis Cartagena founded Cartagena SmartHome on a simple idea: homes should work as hard as the people who live in them.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Luis brought his trade to San Antonio over 10 years ago — and never looked back. In that time, he's built more than houses worth of experience: he's spent a decade in the field mastering security systems, smart home automation, structured wiring, and home theater installs, working hand-in-hand with some of San Antonio's biggest builders to get it right, project after project.

That builder-side experience is what shapes how Luis runs Cartagena SmartHome today. He's seen what happens when low-voltage work is an afterthought — the rework, the exposed wires, the systems that never quite get finished right. So he built a company around doing it differently: clean installs, real coordination, and systems that work the way homeowners actually expect them to.

Whether it's pre-wiring a new build or upgrading a family's home with smart locks and a full security system, Luis brings the same standard to every job — because to him, it's never just a house. It's somebody's home.
